Whether you've been to Atlanta before or it's your first visit, this city is full of exciting things to do and see! Here's our list of some attractions to explore with your syzters.

Atlanta Jazz Festival (May 26-27)

Convention at Atlanta falls under the same weekend as the Annual Atlanta Jazz Festival, one of the country's largest free jazz festivals. Ready for some soulful music and street food? Located in Piedmont Park, it's only a mile from the conference hotel to 400 Park Drive Northeast! There will be free performances from 11 AM - 11 PM on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27.

Momocon (MaY 24-27)

Convention is on the same weekend as Momocon! If you like anime/mange, gaming, comics and costuming this might be an activity for you. One day tickets range from $35-50 depending on the day. Located at the Georgia World Congress Center, this could be a great way to spend part of your Thursday, Friday, or Sunday!

What does Momocon Offer?

Great comic artist of the Archie Comics (for Riverdale followers), Black Panther World of Wakanda, Sonic Universe, Adventure Time, Young Justice, Doctor Who, Princeless, X-men, Wonder Woman, and other DC and Marvel comic series.

The writers of Simpson, The Real Ghostbusters, The Luck of the Irish, Rick and Morty, and The Flintstones. Animators of our favorite Disney movies (Beauty and the Beast, The Lion King, Mulan, Pocahontas, Aladdin, and Tarzan).

And our favorite voices actors for Rita Replusa (Power Rangers), anime (Dragonball Z, Fullmetal Alchemist, Fairy Tail, One Piece, Fruits Basket, Naruto), and cartoons (Spiderman, Justice League, Young Justice, Rugrats, Star Wars, South Park, Winx Club).

SkyView 

When you just want the view of Atlanta and love Ferris wheels, take the Skyview Ferris wheel that is nearly 20 stories tall. SkyView has climate-controlled gondolas that provides guest with breathtaking panoramic views of downtown Atlanta. Price of $15 for three rotations. TripAdvisor suggest night rides will give the best view. The Skyview is located 1.5 miles from the hotel, great for Friday night adventures or Sunday afternoon fun!

The Roof at Ponce City: Skyline Park

Price of the Ferris wheel view not cutting it for you? How about a view with food AND games? The Roof at Ponce City Market is home to Skyline park - only a freight elevator ride away from panoramic views, an 18-hole mini golf course, boardwalk-style games, craft cocktails and so much more. $10 admission and about $1-3 games/rides for Derby Race, Basketball, Skee Ball, Ring Toss, High Striker, Three-Story Slide, and Heege Tower. Golf will be an additional $8-10. Located at 168 Luckie St NW, this place is sure to be fun!

CNN Studio Tour

Get exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the world headquarters of CNN! You will take a 50-minute walking tour through the halls of CNN Center and get an inside look at how a live broadcast is produced and sent to viewers all over the world along with a more in-depth look at how the world’s largest news organization operates. From the historic first newscast to the now living legacy, learn how CNN became the worldwide leader in news. There is a large food court for pre or post tour eatery.

If you want more from this experience, enhance your experience with VIP treatment. Costing about $33 and you get expanded access into live newsrooms, the HLN control room and a state-of-the-art studio that CNN uses daily. TripAdvisor reviewers highly recommend the VIP Tour.

World of Coca-cola

Atlanta is the home of the World of Coca-Cola. There’s plenty to see and do at World of Coca-Cola. You can visit the vault where its legendary secret formula for Coca-Cola is secured and taste 100+ beverages from around the world. You may even meet and take your picture with the Coca-Cola Polar Bear. General Admission is $17.

Center for Civil and Human Rights

Want a safe space to explore the fundamental rights of all human beings? The Center for Civil and Human Rights in downtown Atlanta (100 Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard) is where you want to be. It is an engaging cultural attraction that connects the American Civil Rights Movement to today’s Global Human Rights Movements. The individual galleries engage visitors through a combination of powerful imagery, compelling artifacts and poignant storytelling. Visitors leave inspired and empowered to join the ongoing dialogue about human rights in their communities.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change

Want a more budget friendly but still Interested in learning about civil rights? The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change is a great opportunity to learn more about Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., principles of nonviolence, and the civil rights movement. Nearly a million people each year make pilgrimage to the National Historic Site to learn, be inspired and pay their respects to Dr. King’s legacy.  Admission is FREE. The center is located at 449 Auburn Avenue, NE, about 2.5 miles from the hotel.

College Football Hall of FAme

Fans of College Football? Take a visit to Downtown Atlanta (250 Marietta Street NW) for the College Football Hall of Fame. It is a 45-yard indoor football field with more than 50 engaging and interactive exhibits. A shrine to the greatest to ever play or coach the game.

Zoo/Aquarium & Brew at the Zoo

For animal lovers and brew-enthusiast.

Are you 21+ and planning on going to Atlanta for Convention? Saturday May 26th, Atlanta Zoo has their annual Brew at the Zoo 5:30 PM to 9:30 PM. Admission price ranges from $45-50. You get to try over 70 selections of brew, a limited selection of wine, and their animal exhibits!

If you are not 21+, and still love animals, worry not! General admission to the zoo is $21.99 for students with ID. And let’s not forget the Aquarium for $45.
