5:30 PM to 7:30 PM | Line Syzter Dinner

πŸ‘  Meet in the main lobby to get grouped up with your line sisters and have dinner, mingle with your line syzters, make those connections and memories!

πŸ‘ Elizabeth inspires audiences, sharing her pioneering and insightful aviation lessons as a Black Hawk Helicopter Pilot in a dramatically memorable and action-oriented keynote presentation.

Elizabeth supported UN peacekeeping operations in Kosovo as the S-4 Logistics Officer in Charge at the Battalion level, receiving the Meritorious Service Medal for her excellence in service. A decorated pilot and officer, Elizabeth was awarded the Army Commendation Medal twice, Army Achievement Medal two times, National Defense Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, and the coveted Army Aviator Badge.

A disabled veteran, Elizabeth was medically retired as a Chief Warrant Officer 2 after a career ending injury. She was honored with the Congressional Veteran Commendation for her commitment to duty and community.

Get ready to be energized for her presentation on leadership and how you are in control of what you desire in life!

SYZ The Day: Getting to really know your syzters

πŸ‘ SYZ the day and get to know your sisters on a more personal level! The SIP Interns will be facilitating a light hearted conversation about getting out of your comfort zone, building networks, and interacting with sisters outside your sistership/region. This will help strengthen the sisterhood on a national scale so get ready to mingle!

1 PM to 3 PM | Alumnae Only Activities

πŸ‘ Please meet outside in the lobby where check-in was at 1 PM. We will be taking taking you to get lunch early. After you finish your meal please meet us in the lobby once more for further instruction for the World of Coca-Cola Tour.

πŸ‘ The Coca-Cola Tour will be at 1:30PM. Please arrive back at the hotel no later than 3:10PM!

3:15 PM to 4:15 PM | Gender Identity

Let’s talk about Gender; that one Fake Friend Presented by Mercedes Bouthapanya (Alpha Mu Charter), Maya Mohamed (Alpha Kappa Chapter), and Sarah Myose (Alpha Theta Chapter)

πŸ‘ Participants come to understand gender roles as taught , learned, and enforced rather than natural or inevitable, and have an opportunity to observe the gender inclusivity even among people who we usually think of as having the β€œsame” gender. This workshop will address how to transform the culture of our organization by reducing bias, cultivating allies and increasing opportunities for intentional education and open discussion.

4:15 PM to 5:15 PM Breakout Workshops

1. Implicit Bias - Mercedes Bouthapanya and Maya Mohamed

πŸ‘ Progressive, Multicultural; Why you lyin tho? Members will be introduced to concepts that will challenge them to explore their own implicit biases and how behaviors are manifested from these β€œpreferences”. They will develop a working definition of diversity and how it applies to our organization. They will also delve into the language of diversity and how to be more inclusive with communication and behaviors. This interactive workshop is designed to help SYZters work toward bettering our efforts to be the progressive multicultural Greek organization we claim to be.

2. Succeeding in Leadership Roles As An Introvert - Diana Tran

πŸ‘ Come learn and empower yourself with how you can find strength within your introverted personality. We will be covering various areas such as, projecting self confidence, and navigating group work. There is a leader inside all of us!

3. EIN and Sustain Non-Profit Status - Angela Vuong

πŸ‘ Come learn instructions on how to apply for EIN and sustain your organizations status. *At least ONE member from each membership must attend.

4. Neos Only - Neo 101 - Catherine Fu

πŸ‘ Learn more about Sigma Psi Zeta, meet newly-crossed sisters, and earn points for your team through Jeopardy! Brush up on your Sigma knowledge to lead your team to victory!

*This workshop is mandatory for all registered neos. If you crossed in Fall 2017, Winter 2018, or Spring 2018, you must attend this workshop.

5. Alums Only - Alum Involvement Workshop - Emily Kwan and Elizabeth Kwong

πŸ‘ Come and learn about how you can still be involved with your memberships and our organization once you are an alumna. Because once you graduate and continue on as an alumna does not mean you have to stop being involved with Sigma Psi Zeta!
