As a member of Sigma Psi Zeta, you would be entitled to the following:

National Programming

The national office of Sigma Psi Zeta hosts 3 regional rallies and a national convention for its members to network with other SYZters, develop leadership skills, and share best practices. During the national convention, individual chapters, charters, and SYZters are eligible to win awards and recognitions for their work over the academic year.

The National Office of Sigma Psi Zeta strives to support the pursuits of its individual memberships by awarding multiple memberships additional funding throughout the year. Funding is awarded based on the strength of the proposed program submission. By offering local memberships supplemental funding, our undergraduate SYZters are able to see how their dues directly affect their local organization and community. The funding serves to motivate SYZters to continue to create innovative and engaging initiatives for their peers and overall campus communities.

Scholarship Opportunities

Sigma Psi Zeta further encourages scholastic excellence by annually awarding a scholarship to one or more of our SYZters. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievement and range of intellectual pursuits. Many of our individual memberships also award scholarships internally to their chapter’s members or externally to either peers at their institution or to graduating seniors from local high schools.

Internal Mentorship Programs

The Expansion Mentor Team (EMT) serves as a source of advice and support to interest groups. Members of the EMT also serve as Sigma brand ambassadors at events to generate interest at schools that currently do not have a Sigma Psi Zeta chapter. EMT members will have close relationships with the Expansion Directors and work to further expansion efforts by acting as mentors to undergraduates interested in chartering for the sorority.

The Sigma Internship Program (SIP) allows volunteer undergraduate members to participate in national programs supporting the Alumnae Association and the National Board. SIP members take lead initiatives, such as the national newsletter and the development and execution of professional workshops at national events.

Career Development

Our national initiatives encourage our SYZters to volunteer their talents, creativity, and leadership in service of our academic, philanthropic, and professional goals. These initiatives are always mindfully designed to better equip the organization at large or the community it serves. All relevant administrative, creative, and professional skills, projects, and experiences can be used to distinguish their portfolios or resumes and will help to bolster their efforts during the job search.

In addition, the nationally endorsed social media platforms allow both undergraduate and alumnae members to share career opportunities and insights at various companies.

Sigma Psi Zeta’s National Alumnae Foundation hosts several networking events in various cities that benefit all members young and old. Social and professional networking is embedded into the nature of many of our national programs. Sigma Psi Zeta’s close relationships with other Greek organizations also provide opportunities to meet new people from organizations from all over the world.

The close-knit SYZterhood of Sigma Psi Zeta encourages SYZters to connect with one another while traveling regardless of their school/chapter/charter affiliations. It is common for SYZters to seek housing, backpacking tips, or even travel companions within our exclusive network through our social media platforms.
